Thank you, Ulrich. The crocuses were a bit spoiled when they were hit by heavy rain and hail a couple of days later. But today they are lovely once more.

Hi there, Sarah. I don't know about my favourite colours, but these little crocuses are among my favourite flowers. Unfortunately they only open wide like this is the sunshine, but even when they aren't open the petals are a silvery amethyst colour.

What lovely blooms! I didn't know it and had a look, it's an early flowering sort, much prettier than the usual crocuses!

They are certainly much nicer than the cultivated Dutch Crocus, Gudrun, and they have a happy knack of seeding everywhere! We spent 5 years in Norway (with quite a few brief returns) and the few crocuses I had are now carpeting one of the borders. Time to give some away as gifts I think.
