Any friends on Panoramio? It's time to invite them to join ipernity ;)

I am still in Panoramio and really will not mourn it's passing, friends will be invited to ipernity

what do you believe, what we are doing since weeks and months here...???

My only problem concerns uploading from Flickr via Tampermonkey. It fails to transfer photos, often requiring several attempts, or it duplicates images when I have clicked the import (should actually be 'export') button only once. Very frustrating!

As a frustrated Panoramio user I joined ipernity a while ago- the pages here look much nicer but I do miss the comment stream a lot, that's why I haven't been really active so far.

In Panoramio you get to see real time comments on your user page, for your own photos plus the photos you once commented on. That way you can join an ongoing conversation under a photo if you feel like it. I'd like to see you implementing something like this on ipernity!

I'm on Panoramio and I hope it excist more, but I do'nt know what happens, therefore I am new in Ipernity. I liket he presantation.

I found the evidence (link below) that Panoramio is being shut down and replaced with Google Views. Based on that article and other snooping around, the evidence seems to be that for Google Views they're looking for photography that has been modified or animated in some way. For me, since I prefer photography that has the least amount of adjustments, that means dropping out of the effort to get photos linked to Google Maps.

Yes, Don, and the evidence is very strong. There have been more press releases since then confirming theire plans. Panoramio does not create revenue. The new platform (Views) will be linked to maps and G+ instead to Google Earth and we will most likely see lots of photos of Pizza Parlors, used car dealers and the like. And there is little or no maintenance on Panoramio since months.The Program Manager left and has not been replaced, the forum moderators have no contact to the team anymore etc. The thing is coming literally apart.

I am new here, I have created account today.
As Google is going to terminate/kill Panoramio with 4 millions active users and 120 millions photos it can be a great chance for Ipernity to increase significantly a quantity of users. We should have a tool for inviting Panoramio users directly, not through the Google+, because only a part of Pano users are users of Google+.

Questions to Ipernity Team:

1. Is it possible that in future photos uploaded here will appear in Google Earth and Google Maps ?

2. Do Ipernity have possibility to stock hundreds millions photos ?

My questions can seem to be naive, but I do not know how many users Ipernity have and hom many photos is uploaded here.

1. We already use Google Maps to show pictures with GPS data.
And yes we could easily add Google Earth.

2. We use a cloud, so yes we are able to host millions of photos... as long as our ipernity Club members pay their membership of course :)

I am not sure if my 1st question was enough clear. I see, that my photos are visible on Google Maps - here inside Ipernity. I can also imagine myself, that by creating kml file of my photos I could open this file in Google Earth and those photos will be visible in GE.

But will be visible only for me or other people who will open the same kml file in GE

In fact I wanted to ask if photos from Ipernity could appear in Goggle Earth / Google Maps as the individual layer of photos - the same way like photos from Panoramio appear there.

Panoramio photos (after enable Panoramio layer mounted in GE) are visible to everybody in the world who use GE /GM.

I suppose, that this way of visibility Ipernity photos in GE/GM need any contract between Ipernity and Google.

Do You think that it could be possible in future ?

We understand better now ;) Unfortunately it will be not possible because Google doesn't provide such service.

Google does not...hmm...It must not be a problem if we could convince them that it is necessary for further development of their company...

I just signed up. I'm also a refugee from Panoramio. I have some problems using ipernity with the latest FireFox browser. Some links and tools doesn't work and the organizer won't load. Everything works in Opera. It may be related to some of the extensions, idunno. Will investigate.

You do not have a good map. I am not sure how people from panoramio ca live here.
