Our photo group is www.ipernity.com/group/northamptonphoto Every month, we decide on an assignment for our next meeting. The assignment can be a subject (for January we've chosen "architecture"), a composition technique, an illustration of an emotion, or whatever people want to do. During the month, we work alone on our assignment photos, though occasionally we get together to shoot something at the same time and place. I provide instructions on our group discussion board as to what keywords to use each month. Each assignment has a number, e.g. Assignment100, that goes in the keywords. Members can add up to five photos with the assignment number keyword to our ipernity group each month. Then, we get together at a member's house and view all the assignment submissions together by connecting a laptop to a large-screen television, using the assignment number keyword to search the group pool. We give gentle feedback to each other on our photos. The group is very supportive and is not competitive in any way. It's been going now for 15 years, initially on Fl*ckr and, since 2013, on ipernity.
