We just got the meta description fixed, which should help "advertising" our wonderful web site elsewhere. We mentioned this on our Facebook page. The post has now received promising ~450 views but only very few likes and shares:

What we really need is people sharing the awesomeness of this web site with their friends elsewhere. It does not work if only the "official ima team" tries to share few posts here and there, when our social media pages are very likely followed only by those who already know and use ipernity. We need to make the web site known also by those who does not know ipernity even exists.

We know about Ipernity on Facebook. I would like to know who is currently managing the presentation of Ipernity photos on Twitter? I noticed that administrators from ima publish different (good) photos from Ipernity in other social media.
And some idea: MAYBE it would be worth publishing photos of Ipernity members there, which were shown at major exhibitions or photo contests, and especially photos that were awarded with prizes and awards? Maybe there are not many such photos on Ipernity, but it does exist. Wouldn't it is even better advertising for Ipernity, for our community - to show photos that have been appreciated by independent photographers in the world ?
Greetings :-)
Personally I have been too busy to take care of photos shared to Ipernity's Facebook account. This is one reason why I hope people would use for example Amis d'Ipernity Facebook group and share photos at least there.
But your suggestion is good. If you could perhaps help me and Marko to choose such rewarded top photos? I don't know how to find them.
About the rest :
lets make a new group for this ? ;-)

But that does not mean it would not work out. In general the best way to get some idea spreaded is personal contacts, passing the word from friend to friend. Another way is of course to advertise it on IMA team blog (Ipernity news).
There are also several things to consider. Is it alright to boost the fame of already famous photographers? Will it make Ipernity more appealing to ride on fame of famous ones? How in general people get interested on some social media services?
Personally I still don't have answers to those questions. All possible ideas are of course welcome, and it can be at least worth to try.
What I like about current Ipernity is that it actually does not even pretend to be a place of highly professional photography. I have accounts also at YouPic, Facebook and Instagram, and for some time ago I also tried Google+ and Flickr. From all those I especially like the way how social and casual Ipernity is. Or maybe I just have found it that way. Ipernity of course may look different depending on what contacts one has and to what groups one belongs.

Some ideas and suggestions:
Members should not only publish there, but also share their own pics if and when they have Twitter, Facebook or other accounts. Then they should mention @Ipernity on tweets and address Ipernity on Facebook posts. That way they would help IMA team from doing all on their behalf.
Also other members could start tweeting and sharing the pictures shared on that group. And again address Ipernity on their shares.
If someone has an awarded picture, that then should be mentioned on image caption, and also those who share, should mention that on their posts.
Sharing shares is also a very important part of social media! People who don't know Ipernity does not follow it on Facebook or Twitter either. Therefore it is best if people share each other whenever and wherever they can.
