As the years winds down it is generally a time for reflection of what the last 12 months have been like.
The year started off slowly with snow falling a few days in.The weather through the year was a little like the curates egg, good in places and horrendous in others. We had more storms than ever before with sunny days popping up amongst incessant rain.
March brought my idyllic solo life to an abrupt end with the arrival of Ellen and the cats. I wasn't prepared for the impact they would have on me. My freedom was being curtailed what with Ellen working long hours and two cats to look after.Things settled down into a rhythm after a while with the odd crisis with the cats in between.
Another friend left the island for pastures new down south making 5 who have either died or moved on in the last couple of years.I need new walking pals for the summer although if I can't get my back sorted they will be only 2 or 3 miles long,no more long treks for me.
The year is ending with promise for a good 2014,Ellen seems to be getting on very well with her new beau and young Carl found work to keep him going until the new season starts in March.
I hope you have a wonderful year folks free from ill health and nuisance neighbours and anything else that bugs you.
If you have a God I hope he/she showers you with blessings.
Be good to each other it's all we have.
Most of all remember life is for living so enjoy it.
