A good beer needs savouring

When I am watching sport on the TV a couple of cans of beer go down
well. If on the other hand I am sitting relaxing in the evening a better
brew in called for.This is a collection of some of the fine bottled beers
available,these are not to be thrown down the throat but drunk slowly
and savoured.There are 100,s of these beers on the market this is
just a small selection I have been snapping to make an album,some have very odd names,
I will add more as I come across them.

Yes Mickey, good beer should savoured not thrown down the gullet as you say.
We too have several Specials often the produce of new small local breweries not tied to Carlsberg, Tuborg etc. It is the same in Germany too. Japan is certainly not left running last either. Bottled beer tastes far better than canned beer.

yes bottle are a lot better John. We have had an upsurge in micro breweries in the last few years and they are holding there own against the big boys

I think a lot of the reason is that people really want better alternatives to the run of the mill brands.
Strange as it may seem, although bottled beer is better the litre price is lower than that of canned beer..

I've heard of a couple of those - I used to be married to a man who liked a good beer. He also liked real ale pubs. Not my thing to be honest, I'd rather a lighter beer such as Becks or Bud. I recently discovered pear cider - Perry, and like that quite a bit, especially on a hot day.
