Today looked a little iffy with rain in the air early on but it quickly brightened up so time to buckle down to some work.
I did some laundry and had it out on the whirly before nine and with a stiff breeze it was getting a good blow.
The main job of the day was to be grass cutting. The front is ok and could wait a couple of days if needed, the back however needed attention if it wasn't to get away from me.With the planters on the right hand side I started on the left and had it cut and strimmed in one shot, things were going well. I decided to move the planters over and check the washing before having a break.
That's when things went wrong.I moved the first planter but on the way back caught my foot on the edge of the concrete path and went crashing to the ground. My right knee nd left elbow had a fight with the path which they lost and my right shoulder crashed into the post that holds the bird feeder. This is a steel tube sunk in cement below ground and it wasn't going anywhere.
I lay on the ground for a few seconds shook up before sitting up and gathering my senses. I got the the steps and sat down to survey the damage, there was a little bark knocked off below the knee and a couple of scrapes on my elbow.
I was lucky with the shoulder it struck the pole a glancing blow on the meaty part of the shoulder, much better thean the boney part that would have ben bad.
I went inside tended to my injureis and stil feeling shook up had a coffee with a slug of brandy and relaxed.for half an hour.
Not being a quitter I wnet back out moved the planters, brought the laundry and whirly in and mowed the right hand side, I fell tired by then some came back in not knowing if I could get the strimming down
A cold beer and another slug of brandy later I decided to make the final pudsh and do the strimming, now all work was down and I was alittle tender but happy.
Note the Bernis, Well mate there is me telling yo not to fall over and and do it myself,a fine one to talk eh?

Glad you managed to do what you set out to do so now a time to reax with the ironong board indoors.
John.
I am a faller.. and always have been. The shaking up is so often the worst bit as it sinks in later.
Take it easy.. soak if you can in a bath with some Epsom salts in the water.
