Yesterday was a lovely cloudless day and I called on my son Stephen to delivery birthday cards and he was also heading over the bridge.we had a nice stroll together talking about the weekend games until we reached Tesco where he carried straight on to Aldi,I turned right and walked the final mile to Morrisons.
Pipe fodder stowed I strolled up to Herons and picked up a few bargains and was just about to leave when an old friend hailed me. He was strolling home so as I was only carrying a light load I fell in alongside he. We haven't met for a while so it was nice to catch up. After we parted I came home, had some lunch and checked the back grass hoping to start again with the clean up but alas it was still wet.
That job squashed I did little for the rest of the day.
This morning dawned dull and grey with an ominous cloud bank to the north.
I fed the cats, had breakfast and headed out to get some mushrooms for a chicken chasseur type meal I am planning later and to add to a soup I am making with left over chicken. I just got back home when the rain came. Zazzles was in like a flash of lightening but Sooty just strolled up the path as normal. The are both tearing around the house now playing chase. They will collapse soon and peace will reign for a litte while.

Here today seems like a repeat of yesterday, began nice though but has since fallen to pieces.
Hope the day will improve for you Mickey.
Houston got 20 inches in 18 hours.... .... we did a little better in Oklahoma... but heck after OUR floods last year (and 9 years drought to that previous) we need a break. It took me months to repair the land damage.
Ironic really... we had wildfires everywhere 2 weeks ago and north of the State had 1930's dust storms.....
I will swap for English weather ANY day you like.
Oh yeah... we have the 120F to come shortly !!
Mind you, my dog will sit out in the rain some days as if it's nothing, other times when it's raining, I have to push him out to do his business.
