All was calm this morning after the storm,I poured a coffee and went to survey the damage to the bird feeder. The roof and rail are completely wrecked but the water bowl is still in one piece. I managed to rescue the food tray after taking the battered rail and roof stays off drilled a hole in the centre and fitted it back over the bowl. So no roof but the rest is good and the birds are well used to eating Al fresco as it were. The feeder might be more stable without the roof,I think that was acting as a sail when the wind got under it.So the feeder lives on for a while longer,I don't want to part with it because it was a Christmas gift from Ellen a few years back. Anyway I think it looks OK compared with the photo from yesterday.
In other news I wandered over to get the pipe fodder I was going to get yesterday and collected a bucket of fat balls at the same time so if I go into town Sunday I will be traveling light on the way home.
Tonight will be a strange one because Jenny won't be ringing. We have talked on the phone nightly for over 3 years now apart from when she had that short stay in hospital and her yearly holidays in the sun.In that time we have become firm friends and the trip down to Devon to finally meet her was wonderful. The weather was kind to us, we had a great time photographing the wild Devon coast line and she is great company. Jenny is away tonight because she has gone to Exeter to visit here daughter Mandi.Things are getting exciting on that front with the upcoming wedding naturally be the main focus of attention. I think tonight they are going for a meal and maybe a few scoops of falling down water. I told Jenny not to go dancing on the tables, again.
I am running late here and it is passed my lunch time so I will toddle off for now for a brew and a chew. I'll catch up soon.

The bird feeder doesn't look like it took too bad of a hit..
Took me a couple minutes but I figured out what "falling down water" is! Lol!
