Boats and flowers
Another fine morning here so a wander off into the sunshine seemed a perfect way to spend a little time as I have been cabined up a lot this year with the rain.I needed to get some bird fodder so I thought that will be part of the walk and a slow trawl to see if I could spot a bargain or two.
When I was filling the bird feeders earlier I spotted one or two blooms defying the odds and flowering again, the Sweet Williams are very persistent and have made a third comeback. I took a few snaps they are cheery after such a dismal summer.

It is perfect walking weather today the temps around 60f - 15c and no wind to speak of. The small boats that winter ashore are all berthed up now and the maintenance work has started with sails and rigging to be removed and hulls to check the owners have busy times ahead.
The sea was like a mirror when I passed. I cut through Tesco car park on the way to B&M for the fat balls and had a quick browse at the booter. It will soon be time for these to change to table top sales and head for the church halls to overwinter. A booter(car boot sale) is what I think you Americans call a garage sale, just a way of getting rid of stuff you don't want and buying stuff you didn't know you needed. The stuff is carted there in a car boot or trunk to you although a lot of people use vans and pick ups nowadays. There is usually a pitch fee and an entrance fee for browsers of 50p or so the proceeds going to a local charity.
I got to B&M and collected the fat balls, some bin liners, fig rolls, a slab of cheese and a few more bits before heading around the corner to the freezer shop where I picked up a few items for the freezer and some butter, lard and cooked meat from the cool shelves together with bread rolls.Best buy today was Carte Dor Vanilla ice cream for £1 just the thing for warm apple crumble.
With my pack pack and shopping bag bulging I staggered off to the bus stop just in time for a ride home and a welcome coffee. I am £24 lighter in funds but my freezer and fridge look full and healthy again.
