I mentioned free delivery on my shopping a couple of days ago and this surprised a few people who are strangers to these shores.
Free delivery on shopping is something I take for granted,in fact it is a big help for me and many others. On line food shopping with the supermarkets is getting ever more popular.
I have to rely on the bus service to get around and while this is excellent and wrinklies like me get free rides anywhere in the country the bus doesn't stop near Iceland ( the shop not the country you understand )
Toting 5 or 6 bags of heavy shopping home is not an option so delivery at a time to suit me is perfect. If I am going to visit friends over town I can call in to Iceland, place the order for my big twice monthly shop, frozen, chilled and fresh, tell them what time I want it delivered and wander off to visit my friends. As they deliver up until 7pm this works really well, I can have a full day out and return home in time. Once I have placed my order the food is packed and kept in suitable conditions until delivery time. Also I can see what I am buying unlike on-line shopping where they do substitute items they haven't got with similar things and Iceland's this week's bargain freezers are always worth a rummage through.
It is also handy for people on their way to work of course.Order the food go to work return home and await delivery, shopping without hassle.Minimum order is only £25 and it isn't hard to spend that and more at today's prices. On Monday I spent £33 and I am well stocked.
That's what I call service.
