It's been a good day so far. The morning dawned dull but promising and sure enough it brightened up after breakfast. I decided on a walk down to the village,up through Thorny Nook to the beach and along the shoreline home, a distance of around three and a half miles just the job to blow the cobwebs away.
I set off past the salt marshes ans spotted some geese far out lazing and grazing. There were a few horses in the fields although the posh ones and jumpers had already left for Gymkhanas and the like. There was a couple of Magpies feeding on the remains of a rabbit who didn't quite make it home this morning. The Swallows haven't left yet but after 5 attempts at snapping them and ending up with empty sky I conceded defeat carried on to the village and turned right into Thorny. The Herefords were enjoying the warm morning looking almost friendly lounging around. Friendly and Herefords are two words that don't belong in the same sentence they are surly buggers and very big. I took a couple of shot of them and their smaller cousins in the next field. There are a few blooms still out up the lane and a butterfly was flitting about between flowers. It was then my phone rang,My daughter Ellen wanting to know where I was because she would be heading over shortly for a visit. I was about halfway round then so I told her and carried on to the beach. A few hardy souls were at the waters edge paddling. Immersing any more of your body in the sea would be very brave it looked cold. Back on the home stretch at the salt water marshes I spotted a crow out on his post surveying his domain so I took a couple of snaps of him before heading back arriving just a few minutes before Ellen. We caught up on all the news and gossip before she went back to the mainland and all was quiet again. Well that's if you don't count the starlings having their usual bun fight in the garden. Lunch is over and done with ( sausage butties with lashings of onions fried in butter ). I have lamb cooking slowly and potatoes and sprouts prepped ready for dinner so I have a little time to relax and watch the clouds roll in again. The photos are posted so I will wander about on here and see what's going on.
