Then looking up the river, the contrast is amazing..........
We left before the tide was fully in - about another 2 or more hours left to fully come in - the tide doesn't come right up to the wall at high tide, except in certain circumstances, ie full spring tides or severe storms.
There were lots of dogs as usual on the beach, but one dog really took my eye - he was just like a great big bear - so gentle and soft - he just calmly ambled alongside his owner, and boy would her car have a certain smell after he'd got inside. He'd been for a swim and it was a hot day...... LOL
Do you see what I mean - he's gorgeous.
On my local beach under normal conditions the difference is less than three feet, easy to see by the width of the dead seaweed etc, strip, the beach is not steep either.
