The day dawned misty, then the sun burned it off and it promised a gorgeous day. As it's only 3 weeks now til we go to Turkey, we want to get a good base tan, so we don't burn. Well Mandi already has a gorgeous base tan, but I haven't. That's my excuse for wanting to go out anyway.....

We went to our beach of preference, Instow, because as I've already said before, there are so many things to look at while you are there. The dog walkers were out in abundance, as were some sailors.

When we arrived the tide was on its way in - but had plenty of time before it actually got to high tide. There was a slight breeze but it was a good thing in a way, cos the sun was quite hot at times.

We sat down near the seawall .............

As you can see it was heaving with all those sun worshipers...... LOL

The tide was almost in, so we were squashed up the sand

Gradually after a short while more people arrived on the beach, they even brought their little darlings to run around screaming....... oh joy.....

What was lovely was the amount of traffic on the water - tall sails were in abundance.......

The dog walkers were in abundance

Then the dog walkers arrived and there were lots of dogs running around in and out of the water...........

Dog didn't bother to shake himself - he shot back in the water

Some didn't bother to shake themselves dry because they were going to go straight back into the sea, while others............

Shook themselves over everything..........

One lovely friendly dog saw this family sitting on the sand and decided to say hello....

From the man's expression it was a nice surprise.......

Then along came a vision - I thought it was Billy Ocean [only because he was performing in Barnstaple - about 6 miles away - last night] I don't know if it was him - but it did look like him...........

Eventually we came back after over 3 lovely hours in the sun - people watching, dog watching and reading .......

We were met with this lovely creature on my window........

A grasshopper met me when I got home

I helped him to go outside - where he belongs, because Mandi was going doolally in the lounge..... LOL

Sorry folks, nothing much else to tell you - we do the housework and cooking etc every day, but there's no point in telling you all about that is there.........

Hope you have a great weekend. I was intending to watch the Italian Grand Prix qualifying round, but the sun was too good a pull to go out than to stay in and watch the tv. Don't worry though - I recorded it LOL
