Today has been a delightful day - all lovely and warm, with hardly any wind and cloudless skies for the most part. Needless to say - it wasn't long before we got into the car and headed off to our favourite place to people and dog watch - Instow..

Mandi quickly made us a lovely flask of mocha and armed with that and a bag of crisps each and the leftover quiche, we shot off to the beach.

It was really quite quiet thankfully because the schools have nearly all gone back, and so we found a great bench, and the sun was hot on our faces and arms.

This family had a wonderful time together. The three dogs and their master and mistress were playing in the water and chasing the balls for a good two hours. When they came back up the beach, the dogs were suitably quiet with their tongues lolling out and they were panting - the man got a huge bowl out of the car and filled it up with fresh water. They told us that they bring the dogs down to the beach every day to wear them down. They have an incredible amount of energy, so I can imagine it must be quite tiring. I wouldn't have wanted to be in their car going home though - the temperatures were quite high today and with three wet dogs in the car panting - not a good aroma I should think.

Then we watched while other dogs were running around after balls - nearly all of them being thrown by that wonderful invention of a bendy ball catcher. Boy could those balls be chucked a good distance. One lot of dogs were constantly in the sea ...

I just love this last photo - the man was just about to throw the ball and either dog was getting really excited..........

Well we stayed there in the fresh air and the hot sun for over 3 hours - wonderful. We had a light snack and we read some magazines while sunbathing. People watching is one of my favourite past-times I must admit. Now the beach is lovely and sandy, but quite quiet. Still we have yet to feel bored there..

This glorious little dog just ran and ran and ran and ran....... he was having a fantastic time racing around..........

I hope you enjoy the video - I just had to photo him having the time of his life. Oh well it wasn't long before we had to back home and start getting supper ready...
