Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!

Well I'm sure there are some people on here without a partner and so don't associate themselves with St Valentine. I'm one of those - it's been over 20 years since I last had a Valentine's card or a special someone to share a bottle of wine and some chocolates with. Still never mind eh? At least I can share today with wonderful friends on here. I feel that St Valentine shouldn't just be for lovers, but for those of us who have a wonderful friendship which is just as good (well without the lovey dovey bits!) We may never meet, but it doesn't mean we can't appreciate the friendship that we have. So from me to you all - a very happy St Valentine's Day everyone.

If I lived nearby, we'd make a grand day of this one, though for going out to eat, we would pretend that V-Day is a few days from now...the crowds and inflated meal prices are just dumb! (Statistics: the busiest restaurant days of the year are #1: Mother's Day and #2 Valentine's.)

Steve and I will go out for sushi in a few days!

I gave each of my Squidgee Gang a hug and a kiss on the noggin to celebrate the day, and of course, Pumpkin got lots of snuggles! :)

Oooomph I collapse with your virtual leap onto me to give me a hug!!!!! I fully agree with you - the prices at least double here on special days like this - so wrong, because they'd have more customers if they reduced the prices. I hope you and Steve enjoy your sushi - it's something I don't think I could eat - but each to their own!!!!! I'm sure the gang enjoyed their hugs etc as of course Pumpkin did. All is well here, sweetie, apart from Storm Dennis who seems hell bent on making us wet and being blown all over the place. It's such a good thing that I enjoy staying indoors isn't it?

Yes Jenny I agree, love is not Just romantic.. Its everyone we love. Our children, familes and friends.. Valentine's day should celebrate All love! So big hugs my friend! Order yourself up a treat of chocolate and wine. Indulge yourself because you are loved. By everyone that knows you and more importantly you are happy with yourself. That alone makes you lucky and truthfully a rarity. Happy Valentine's day my friend! XO

You are so sweet, Gracie - you really do say the nicest of things. A had a lovely bit of chocolate - always in the freezer, it makes me think twice if I fancy a piece of chocolate!!!! LOL and as for wine - don't have any - and I'm not one for wine anyway most of the time. No I had a brandy instead with ginger wine and boy did it reach parts of me that hadn't been woken up for a long while!!!!! I'm mostly happy with myself -- yes that's true - I just wish my body would do the things I want it to do without either hurting or making me feel sick and giddy. Apart from that - I'm great. Thanks again my dear friend for your lovely words. xxx

I don't say what's not true. Trust me, if you were a jerk I'd probably just say little if anything! But I'm glad you had the chocolate. I'm not a wine person either. I do like my Baileys occasionally. As to your brangingewine (see what I did there?) waking up your parts that have been asleep? Too much information!!! Calling Dr. Clooney! Lolol!! XoxoX

Oh you can call Dr Clooney if you like, but it wasn't those parts which were woken up - the shivering down the spine I meant!!!!! LOL I like your brangingewine which does cover the drink. It's only the second one I've had this year, in fact in the last 12 months!!!!! I very rarely have any alcohol - what's the point on my own?

Nice blog.

Being 'single' I don't get cards etc anymore but that's okay.

Best Valentine gift - a net of red onion 'seeds' for me to try and grow my own. Myself and my then bf didn't much care for valentine's day, and had agreed not to buy gifts/cards, though he surprised me with the onion sets.

Worst gift, kind of - was a huge box of chocs from a bf who opened them, then proceeded to scoff most of them leaving me hardly any to share with my son.

Thanks Fran - no I forgot about the cards - I used to get some lovely ones from my last bf. That was a bit mean of your ex-bf to give you chocs and then scoff them - that's not the way to a girl's heart is it? As for onion sets ?????? I wouldn't see them as a way to a girl's heart neither!!!! LOL

A very belated Happy Valentine's Day to you, Jenny! I have been rather distracted lately and don't visit quite a regularly as I used to, so unfortunately I wind up wishing people belated greetings! :-(

My Hubby and I had a nice, very low key Valentine's day. We gave each other cards and candy and enjoyed each other's company until I went to work later in the day.

Thanks Val - no need to apologise for not visiting so often - you have a lot on your plate at the moment and it's no wonder you tend to miss things.
