It's great looking out to the driveway and seeing all these little shoots coming up. There are a few celandine and buttercup plants are showing too. It's too cold for me to be outside to weed the driveway and to be honest I don't think I'm able to do it - so I'll have to get someone from the Volunteer Bureau to come and sort out my garden and driveway. Emily doesn't mind cutting the grass for me, and my neighbour, Richard, is happy to trim the hedges, bushes and even brings his chainsaw round to cut any branches that need doing. I think he's going to have to cut down the apple tree half way down the driveway, as it's curling over and making it difficult for any cars to come down. So that's another thing that has to be done.
We've had lovely weather the last two days - blue skies which is great, but there is a wind too, which makes it very cold. At least no rain, I hate wind and rain together, especially at this time of the year. Anyway - while I was out there yesterday taking pictures of the bluebell plants, Pippin decided to join me from wherever he'd been and made a great display of sharpening his claws on the fence.....
I'm not sure where he nips off to - but it's never very far away. The problem is - he's over grooming his back near his tail, and now there's a distinctive lack of fur in places. It's not down to the skin yet, but I've already put flea drops on the back of his neck, but I think I'm going to have to get some ointment for his back - something that'll be safe if he licks it. It just needs to calm his skin somewhat so he won't feel the need to lick it all the time.
Well back to the bluebells etc. Hopefully soon it'll be a bed of blue flowers in about 5 weeks. How lovely - because then the primroses come, along with crocus', and then the blossom on the trees will be giving me a wonderful display of colour - I can hardly wait.....
I hope you all have a great weekend to come, I've got Emily coming tomorrow, and hopefully she'll colour my hair, because to me - grey is okay but not THIS grey!!!!! I wouldn't mind if it was a pale grey, but it's a dark grey and I don't like it!!!!
Hopefully the volunteer folks can help you out, that would be great! And it sounds like you've got some help with other things too which is nice.
I'm sorry that Pippin is over-grooming himself, hopefully the drops you put there give some relief.
I'll have to go and see if the remaining bulbs around the gardens are sprouting leaves! :)

We're not perfect and sometimes we don't spend enough time with her and if that happens, she may overgroom and chew off feathers. We are so ashamed and angry with ourselves if this happens and thankfully it only happens very rarely...she also will do this if she knows that we are in a very bad place--she can sense it--and hear it of course--but happily her feathers are in fine condition now. We hope to keep her feeling great and not overgrooming! Good luck to Pippin too! :)

My dog had a sore neck a while back, and some loss of fur. I got some cooled water from the kettle (so it was very clean), dissolved a little salt in it, then bathed his neck using cotton wool balls. After doing this a few days, it cleared up.
We've had some lovely blue skies, and sunshine too with a little wind, but Sunday morning we've woken to heavy rain and wind. Oh well. Hoping it won't be too bad for us all.
