Hiya, I've not written a blog for a while, because to be honest - not a lot has happened here - it's that time of year when you want to be out but the weather gods have decided that they're going to have fun and stop you from venturing out. Apart from that - my friend asked me if I'd take up his curtains for his new home. He's got some really lovely woven woollen curtains which weigh a ton!!!! So it's one thing to say "No problem - of course I'll take them up!" but then I realised that they were heavy and so beautifully made that I realised pretty soon, that they would have to be sewn by hand - it would be criminal to sew them with a machine leaving a line at the hem. Well I've managed to finish one - did I mention that they are heavily lined too? - so now I've started on the second one. Isn't it funny - I love sewing (as you already know) but when it's like a job, it loses its appeal pretty soon. I really have to push myself to get going with it and it doesn't help that they're so big and heavy and hurt my wrists and arms - still I'll be happy when I've finished them and pleased that I can help a friend.
Well today being Friday - Emily came. She is so much fun, that I really look forward to her coming here. Today after she'd changed my bedding and hoovered up, we decided to sort out one of my cupboards. She's so good at doing things like this - it was again a "Oooh I forgot I had that" time!!!! Now things are moved about and put back in a tidy cupboard and I can see what I've got. It's fabulous and she took the things I kept for some reason or other, but are now no good, to the refuse dump. She not only cleans for me - but doesn't mind running small errands like this.
Well I did something stupid just before she left - I closed a door but forgot to move my finger!!!!! I was very proud of myself from not swearing like a trouper - Emily was still here and I didn't want to frighten/shock her!!! Now it's changing colour quite quickly. I do hope the nail doesn't fall off - it's a bummer when that happens!!!
Oh well - you're never to old to be stupid are you?
I'm hoping that this next week will be drier and less windy, then I can go up the drive and take picture of the bluebells and other spring flowers growing there. I can see the lilacs are starting to sprout not only leaf buds but also some blossom buds, and with a bit of luck the cherry tree looks as if there will be some blossom on it soon!!!!
Well folks, all I can say is - have a wonderful weekend all.
I think Spring is now on its way!!!!!

Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Pat Del clubEmily does sound like a God send. You're lucky you got her.
That curtain job sounds like a lot of work. How many panels and how big are they?
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to GracieYes I am indeed blessed to have Emily - she's such a tonic. I tend to forget she's younger than my kids and I feel the same age as she is - we seem to just click and say whatever we like. A rare thing indeed.
How are you more to the point? How are you coping being pampered - still find it's a pain - enjoy it - you deserve it. I hope it won't be long before you're feeling more yourself and can go up and down stairs easily. Much love and hugs from me.

I've just 'Christened' my new washing machine and am wondering what the washing will be like when finishe because the 'User maual' you know RTFM is only written in French, Dutch and German, 3 languages that I am not good with.
To make things better theFont size used can best be described as 'Sub-miniature'.
Have a nice weekend.
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Stormlizard clubI just love this time of year - the beginning of warmer weather.
Weather here is milder and a little sunshine though not much, but at least the wind and rain have eased. Hope you can get out and take some nice photos as I always love to see your beautiful garden and plants.
