As you know when Mickey was here he re-potted quite a few of my plants and they've now had time to settle in - one of them being my long suffering hoya............

This plant has been in my bedroom for around 16 years and it was definitely needing a new pot and a new place to be - in my lounge. During the move quite a few of the little flowers got damaged, but they have rallied round and produced some gorgeous little clusters of flowers. I've read up on this plant and it usually called the Hindu rope plant, being native to India, or wax plant. Apparently it flowers better if it's root bound - isn't that strange.
Now the hoya doesn't like to be moved during it's flowering period so I'm so thankful that there are some flowers left.....

I hadn't realised that the flowers themselves are sort of fluffy and spongy in appearance close up - but you can see how they emit beads of wax and this is what gives it the perfume.......

So now I'll be able to watch it change daily as it's in the lounge and not in my bedroom where I really didn't have much of a chance to watch it grow.
