Yesterday I cleaned out Flip's tank and the pump decided to stop working!! Now normally he can survive one full tank of water without the pump working for a couple of days. So I went on-line to E-Bay and bought a new pump.
This morning I came downstairs and he was swimming around, but didn't look too happy, not surprised really because the water was still cloudy. Anyway during the morning he jumped out of the water several times - poor thing.
Then just when Yvonne came to collect me to take me to her house, I noticed that Flip was lying on his back at the bottom of the tank!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh No! No fish of Mandi's is going to die on my watch. I picked him up - nothing - I blew into his mouth - nothing - hells teeth what do I do now?
So with him in my hand I dashed into the hall, picked up his own bucket and put him at the bottom and filled it with water from the tap.....
Nothing............
So I blew again into his mouth - held him gently and pulled him back and forwards in the water .............
Nothing........
Yvonne asked if I wanted her to dig a hole for him and I said that I would leave him alone in the bucket and sort him out when I came home.
I had a lovely afternoon with Yvonne and met her adorable little kitten, Lotty, and came home with trepidation.
Flip was swimming around at the bottom of the bucket. Somehow he'd come round and was alive!!!!!!
So I'm leaving him in there until the new pump comes around. He'll be fine in there and I'm going to completely clean out the tank, even clean out the gravel and so when the new pump does come, which should be tomorrow or Thursday, then he can go back into his home.
Oh I think I need a drink now........... by the way - dear old Flip is 10 years old which is good for a goldfish apparently.

When I was young I had an old steel Tank that had been up in someones roof as a header, I kept Carp in it outdoors, during winter the water froze solid several times but they lived happily on when the ice melted.
Nice kitty pics and flowers too.
Enjoy your evening.
