Well the weather is starting to drive me nuts - each morning it dawns all drizzly and dull and so there's nothing that I can do, then just around 4pm or so each afternoon, it clears up and we have lovely sunny days. It's too damn late for me to do anything and so I'm getting quite fed up. I really need to trim down the hedges and do some more weeding in the driveway - but it's either raining or it's too wet to sit on the ground and weed....... hmmmm grrrr........ okay rant over.
Yesterday my neighbour Ann, invited me over to have a cup of tea/coffee and look at her garden. I also managed a quick peek at the seagull babies on my roof. There are still 3 babies, but one of them has proven its stupidity by having slid down the roof and ended up in the gulley between the two roofs of my house and next doors. Still the parents are feeding him but making a racket as they berate the poor little thing for having got itself in its predicament...
See he's healthy and curious - and stupid..... whereas the others are still on the nest inbetween the chimney pots and they have a great vantage point..........
There was a lot of cawing etc by the parents, especially when other birds came near their brood. So yesterday it was very noisy.......
Ann very proudly showed me her garden and I must admit it's lovely. The size of the garden is very manageable and of course with two avid gardeners, it's gorgeous. She has a lot of plants and flowers that I've not see before.......
She did tell me what they were, but my brain wasn't co-operating and didn't keep the information for me........ there were the obvious ones that I knew about....
Then she showed me their drive wall which had been spectacularly knocked down by a hasty workman who reversed rather quickly without realising that the wall was behind him..
That wall had been there for over 200 years - but it only took a minute to knock it down. He's coming back to rebuild it next week............
Then I saw this superb little flower - can't remember what she called it - but it is really lovely - a bit like 'Love in a Mist' but it isn't........
Isn't it gorgeous........
She also pointed out her sage bush - didn't realise it had flowers neither......
Oh so pretty. See her garden is really lovely - I wish she felt impelled to come over to my house and sort out my garden LOL
I hope you all have had a great weekend and that the week to come will be kind to you all. My thoughts are with familes who have been so badly affected by the horrors of the weekend. I know exactly where the massacre on the beach in Sousse took place, as it was only about 10 miles from where my ex son-in-law's parents live. Lovely beach - but such a shame that the tourists are running home leaving this country, which relies so heavily on tourism, in a bad economic situation. I do hope people start going back there, because it is a fascinating country.
They lied ....... again.....

What a glorious array of flowers !!!
Wouldnt you want to get away as fast as you could having seen a massacre ?
The White with pink flower is an Allium .. which hybrid I am not sure.
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Pam J clubVery nice flowers in your friends garden.

Mind you, I wouldn't go to that kind of country in the first place, but that's just me. Hopefully the death toll won't rise any more.
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Bee OrchidYou are absolutely right, all the world needs to stand up and eject these horrid excuse for humans off the face of the earth!

As for extremism - it's an unfortunate situation and as you say - nowhere is safe.
