Transformation by light
"If the eye were not sunny,
it could never see the sun"
J.W. Goethe
-1-
Transformation through light
Carsten Watol painted this picture based on an idea of mine.
100 /70 cm
Preliminary remark
Light is invisible on its journey
from the sun to the earth.
To illustrate this, it is painted here as a white ray.
One ray also stands for all the light.
Part 1
Effect on physical bodies
Everyone is familiar with the rainbow
with its regular colour gradations.
-2-
Rainbow
Unmissable in their beauty
the many sunrises and sunsets.
-3-
Sunset over Dresden
Visible in the short-lived iridescent coloured
beauties of the soap bubbles.
-4-
Soap bubbles - in front of the Frauenkirche in Dresden
In the picture, the white ray of light hits a prism.
and immediately the different colours become visible.
-5-
Spectral colours
The colours of light attract people.
They rush in
- old - weakened - sick - more or less healthy
more or less healthy people.
Everyone finds the colour that heals them.
Everyone hopes to be strengthened or healed.
The greatest effect is seen on a naked person.
The rays caress the whole body.
2nd part
Effect on mind and soul
A few grey days - then a brief spell of sunshine
dazzling white snow - deep blue sky
even the snow reflects the blue.
-6-
Winter morning with sun in the Elbe valley 14.3.2013
A summer's day - fresh green - white clouds
in the deep blue sky
-7-
Cycling - Moritzburg/Saxony Easter 2015
Everyone reacts with friendly feelings.
- And -
they don't need to know
that light has a colour spectrum that is invisible to the eyes.
All colours in nature are created
through the natural prism
of atomic and molecular structures.
Part 3
Light and heat
Today we know how heat is generated:
When light strikes an object - be it air, water or solid objects
- be it air, water or solid objects
energy to the atoms,
To be more precise:
The radius of the electrons increases.
This causes everything to heat up.
In spring, after cold days
- the first warming rays of sunshine on the skin - how
- how pleasant -
And everything for free
in the exuberant richness of nature and light.
This is how sunlight creates
the beautiful colours of nature.
As a human being, I can only marvel,
marvelling again and again.
-8-
Even in 2020, I like the joy of nature - that's how I am by nature :-)
"You happy eyes,
What you have ever seen,
Be it as it may,
It was so beautiful."
J.W.Goethe
