- A nice memory -
Unfortunately, the 2020 and 2021 markets were cancelled due to Corona.
They will be held again in 2022.

Impressions
at a medieval Christmas market

-1-

There are several Christmas markets in Dresden.
The most famous is the Striezelmarkt.
The 'Stallhof' is a market with medieval flair

A girlfriend has been standing for 19 years
at this medieval Christmas market in Dresden.
I like it
to experience the market day from a retailer's point of view.
It's a long day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Many people pass by the booth.
My girlfriend sells wool and felt things.

-2-

Mostly women stop - look at the goods -
choose - try on -
get advice from the seller -
and also from her husband.
The women shop purposefully.
Mostly it's about color and shape.

I would like to speak to people.
" Where are you from?"
After that question
usually a friendly conversation arises,
no matter - young or old.

This is how I get to know people
the United States - Canada - England - South Korea - Beijing - Japan - India
but also Switzerland and Austria
and of course from Saxony
Bavaria Franconia Swabia
the Rhineland and Westphalia.

-3-

There is plenty of food and drink.
International and also medieval dishes are offered.
Vegetarians are also catered for.

-4-

A very good wind quintet from Saint Petersburg
plays well-known melodies by Kalinka
to modern music.

-5-

When it gets dark -
there is virtual snow blowing on a wall.

7 p.m.
that was a long day with looking - talking - eating and drinking is enough for me.

A good experience is:

There is still a lot of joy and humor
among the people.

-7-

I drive home from the Striezelmarkt.
