Saving an image from ipernity to iPad?

When trying to download one of my own images, it seems it will only allow the image to be downloaded as a gif file. Does anyone have the answer why it can't be downloaded as a jpg?

Please see additional screen images posted this morning 21 April illustrating this issue. Tapping on "open image" takes me to a blank screen with a URL reference ending with gif. See image posted.
