This week, the Ship’s Dog was fired. He was having a little nap in the sun, outside the back door which is a lovely little sun trap for him. I don’t mind him napping, however, next door’s cat was also napping in the sunshine, in my garden, on the decking nearby. I’d gone out to check on the laundry, and scared the cat, inadvertently, and she ran off to her own garden. So much for the guard dog! Truth be told, he likes cats and will try and get up close to them which of course most cats don’t appreciate. He wags his tail at the sight of them, and never shows any aggression towards them. The cats don’t react the same way and I have to restrain him in case they decide to rip his face off! The neighbour’s cat is quite small with lovely markings and she often sits on their window ledge just watching people go by. It’s a pretty little cat. I don’t mind cats; however, I do have an awfully bad reaction to any cat flea bites so I avoid getting close to them, just in case.
The weather has been wonderful the past few days with copious amounts of sunshine and a nice breeze to boot. It’s forecast to remain the same until Saturday when we’re forecast light rain all day. The garden will appreciate it and by then, I’ll have caught up on the laundry. The temperature is around 17C on average and I wish summer was the same. I loathe UK summers as they get too hot, with no breeze, and we have high humidity too. Yuck!
After 2 months I’ve had my test results back and I suspect that the specialist was holding on to the blood test results until he had the nerve conducive results too. The nerves in my right arm are all good which surprises me as I’m right-handed and I’m constantly dropping things. The left arm shows mild borderline slowing of the nerves; this arm often hurts. Not much they can do except keep an eye on it to ensure I don’t get a trapped nerve. The bloods were all fine except for vitamin D which is quite low, again, I’m surprised my vitamin B levels are good. No idea if they’ll give me a prescription for vitamin D if I need a high dosage, so in the meantime, I’ve bought some from the supermarket. I’m not a sun worshiper as I burn very easily, loathe the feel of sun cream, and have already had a basal cell carcinoma removed due to damage from the sun. I don’t eat leafy greens – too many in the packet for one and my son won’t touch greens. He’s already taking vitamin D. I do like eggs, and salmon occasionally. According to the NHS blurb, many people in the UK should take D supplements, especially in the winter and it’s hard to get enough vitamin D just from food.
Not much else going on, and I assure you the Ship’s Dog will be reinstated very soon. I’m a pushover for a big furry dog with a pretty face…
Enjoy what’s left of the week and have a good weekend.

We have had great weather here i am on top of the gardening,we had rain early this morning but the suns back now.
Your medical results seem to be as good as you could have hoped for
I have just found out why it is or was so hot here recently, one Radiator had jammed on full open even though it should have cut off ages ago, it was so hot I burned my hand on it, I have turned it off, but must remember to reset it before winter.
Poor ship's dog - he probably knew the cat was there, but didn't want to scare her. I think he's lovely and how could you resist that gorgeous face of his.
It's beautifully warm here too, with a wind which is very welcom. I'm not sitting in the sun today though - slightly too hot and I don't want to burn (I'm almost glowing with my white skin!!!!)
Glad it's warm there for you. A little bit of sun will soon stop your skin glowing white. Hope you're having a wonderful time.
