The pirate wannabes are due back any week now, and the pressure is mounting here. Today I’ve had to deal with 41 emails so far, and it’s getting on my nerves. It would be so much easier if someone would just call a damn meeting, or even pick up the phone to discuss requirements, but no; they need an email trail. Half the time I can’t help anyway: how many cutlasses do we need? How much do they cost? Where will they be stored? Beats the hell out of me! I spend more time fielding queries than actually doing anything useful. I often wish I could burn the rope holding my anchor and just sail away into the blue yonder…
I had some good news from the hospital: the after effects of the virus that’s been plaguing me now seems to have totally disappeared from my system. Now if I could just work out why I’m getting pins and needles so often, and stop them, I’d be a happy bunny. I’ve been trying to eat more healthily, and drink less and exercise more, and it seems to have paid off; they don’t want to see me for any more blood tests or check-ups. Good news indeed!
The Cabin Boy has been enjoying his college course and has already made some friends. They have a long break on the one day, and he even walked to the out of town shopping area with some friends to hang out and have a break. Maybe I should give him a shopping list? Good joke.
I discovered another small leak of sorts on the ship, and I swear a new bathroom cleaner I was using has ‘eaten’ away at the sealant. I’ve made a temporary repair using PTFE tape (no, I don’t know what it is but it’s damn useful) and I’ll have to buy some new sealant to do the job properly. My sister is going to show me how to colour the grout so that will tart-up the bathroom nicely. The tiles are white, and the grout is white, and the suite is white, and it’s so boring. If it were all new and white, it would be blinding! Who has a totally white room anyway? It’s weird! I’ve painted all the woodwork blue, and the vinyl on the floor is blue. If I do the grout in blue too, it should tie it all in nicely. I like a blue bathroom.
I’m counting the hours until the weekend. I plan to go out in the lifeboat to an agricultural show with my friend; however the impending rain may put a stop to that. We have to park in a field, and the show is in a field; if it’s too wet we just won’t go. Fingers crossed the forecast is wrong and it won’t rain too much.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Good news about the cabin boy it seems the course is bringing him out somewhat
Bernie - They have agricultural stands of equipment which is interesting (to me anyway lol), and animals, show tents for dogs, bunnies, chickens and so on. I get to see animal breeds I've never seen before. They also have food, and usually trade stands too. A few years back I bought a very nice leather handbag at one. Still using it...
Gracie - I often pour bleach down the plug holes, keeps them smelling nice and free flowing.
John - Not sure about black... It'll be a nice blue. It will depend on what I find, and how mucg it costs.
Mick - Yes, I've wrapped it around the base of the sink tap. The tap isn't leaking, but where my son splashes (!) it's dripping down by the seal. I've suggested he doesn't splash so much but that fell on deaf ears.
I'm not a Scot but I'm canny with my money :)
