Recorded at the Club Tequila Showroom at the Fiesta Hotel in Las Vegas this is co-writer Paul Richmond singing "Shining Star" (Paul Richmond - Leo Graham). Paul is a Grammy nominated producer, songwriter and bassist who has opened for acts like Culture Club, Peabo Bryson and Tina Turner.
In 1980 The Manhattans (lead vocalist Gerald Alston, Edward Bivins, Kenneth Kelly and Winfred Lovett) peaked at number four R&B, number five on the Billboard Top One Hundred and twenty-one A.C. with "Shining Star". From the album "After Midnight", the single won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
