"A Paper Of Pins" is a British Folk Song, courting song and/or children's song with the earlier title "The Keys Of Canterbury". It was added to the Alan Lomax collection in the thirties. Straight sewing pins were once sold stuck through a paper sheet side by side. Here it's played on traditional tin whistles by an unidentified duo.

From the Marilyn Monroe film "Bus Stop" we get The Four Lads "The Bus Stop Song (A Paper Of Pins)" (Ken Darby) as it was sung over the credits. The 1956 single peaked at number twenty-three on Billboard. Composer Ken Darby's singing group backed Bing Crosby on the original recording of "White Christmas". Wikipedia: "Darby was also the principal composer of the 1956 Elvis Presley hit "Love Me Tender" for the movie of the same name but signed the rights over to his wife, Vera Matson, whose name appears as co-lyricist and co-composer with Elvis Presley. The song was adapted from the Civil War era song "Aura Lee." Presley's composing credit was mandated by his management, to entice him to record the song. Darby was often asked about his decision to credit the song to his wife along with Presley, and his standard response was an acid, "Because she didn't write it either."
