About Coldwaterjohn club

Started my photography in my teens with my father's 1934 Leica III, moving on to an M3, and then an R4. Switched to a Canon DSLR, but have not abandoned 35mm altogether.
Interested in aerial and landscape photography, primarily, and in using HDRI on occasion, as unobtrusively as possible. As of January 2013, I am using a Canon 6D with 24-105mm and their f2.8 70-200mm lenses. Most recently I have acquired a Tamron 15-30mm lens. I am also using a thirty-year-old 70-210 Angenieux lens with Leitz 2X Extender and conversion collar.
My contributions to Panoramio of course can no longer be found there - there had been 1,731,112 overall views of the images posted there, before Google pulled the plug on that site.
In 2011,2012, and 2013, I have been photographing the individual pieces in the collection at The Highlanders Museum, Fort George, the largest military museum in the UK, outside of London, as a digital record.for them. This included weaponry, medals, uniforms, manuscripts, and paintings, as well as copying the contents of very old albums dating back to the earliest days of photography. My work forms part of the imagery and video presentations on display at The Highlanders Museum.
Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the more than 5,000 images cannot be reproduced on Ipernity or Flickr,
My images on Ipernity and previously on Flickr are more of an almost daily photo journal than selected for any particular "distinction."
Flickr's May 2013 abortion of an upgrade sent me into the arms of ipernity!
I am more selective on my photo.net page, which you will find at www.photo.net/photos/jtmm
I have lived and worked in eleven countries over forty years, but we are now settled in the north of Scotland.
My Facebook page is at www.facebook.com/Coldwaterjohn
Please feel free to comment, but I would appreciate it if you didn't feel compelled to comment on every single image, in the hope that I may reciprocate - that isn't what my presence here is about.
My photography is here to share with friends and any others who may appreciate seeing my imagery - not to gather or distribute as many comments as possible.
