I have + gone to catching but have plenty to eat have been staying alone in a little shack for a week but expect more men Monday. I am running a traction engine in the woods we have not any snow here now + quite warm but ??? lonesome am going to Portage city in about 3 weeks to work for $75.00 a month for the summer + $2.50 a day for the rest of the year. Postmark is Kawende, which was an early name for the village of Oakville.

Passed through beautiful scenery today. Love to all."
