Valentine Edy no. VE 1016. This was posted October 21, 1930 to Grand Cafe, 89 King St., Kitchener, Ont. and has a 2c postage due stamp as well as a 2c postage due ink stamp.

Posted at Gladstone, Man., November 20, 1914 to Miss L. Wright, 222 F---l St, Ottawa: "Gladstone Nov. 18 - Received your card + was glad to know you have arrived safely. We are all having some cold weather between 25 + 30, with snow. Miss Frampton's sister is in the store + Mr. Gerald has gone to the war. Everything as usual here. With best wishes. M. McI. [?]" Stedman Bros. G.D.C. 4627, with Brantford and Winnipeg given as the company's locations. Unrecorded by Smith.

Valentine & Sons no 103,386 ... Portage Ave. East. This one interests me because it shows a lot of autos and seems to be from a later date than you'd expect for a Valentine & Sons card in the 103.xxx series. I wonder if it is a replacement for an earlier view with the same title. (Just speculating) [edit 2022 -- very astute speculation!]

Valentine & Sons no. 105,831. I probably already have this somewhere but noted the Consolidated Stationery Co. sign on the side of the Telegram Building, plus the demolition of the building next to it, to allow for the extension of the building on the left, which is now much longer and taller, I believe.

#112,400 of the Valentine & Sons United Publishing Co. Ltd., Winnipeg, Manitoba with a "Printed in Great Britain" notation and a stamp box reading "Valentine's Series 23-1". This is an unusual Valentine back for Canada.

Valentine Edy card no. 113,056, likely c. 1920 or later. A rare view in the Valentine style showing the Paris Building (a latecomer to Portage Avenue) as well as the Marlborough Hotel under that name.
