Valentine & Sons, no. 110,214, postmarked at Brandon July 12, 1919 with a war slogan cancel "Buy War Savings Stamps and Help Reconstruction". To Miss E. Kusher, 11 Bartholomew Rd., Kentish Town, London N.W. 5, England: "12-7-19 Arrived here at 4 p.m. The whole town out to see us through. Love, Geo." The sender would quite possibly have been a returning soldier. Perhaps Miss Lusher was a young lady he had met overseas.

Valentine & Sons, no. 110,222, posted at Edmonton on Sept. 3, 1915 to Mrs Dalgelish, 1022 - 13 Ave W, Calgary, Alta. "Dear Mrs Dalgalish, How are you after the party. Miss Mawson's met us at the station so we are having a nice time. Expect to leave for home next week if all is well. It is cold here to day. Closing with love + best wishes, From your loving Friend, Mrs. Mary Currie"

Valentine & Sons, no. 109,735. Posted at Kenton May on Nov. 5, 19-- to Miss Daisy Rattray, Little Gourdas, Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Unusually, there are 3c in stamps so this must have been during the war. "Kenton, Manitoba Dear Daisy, Just a P.C. to say we have arrived here safe but feels some tired after the long journey. We stayed in this town one night. I am writing Elsie a long letter so you will all get a read of it. I sent your mother a P.C. of the boat. Also Elsie, I hope you are all well. We have lots of snow here so it is real cold. I hope you will write me some times. Write to this address + I will get it where ever I am. Best love to all from us both your loving Aunty Doddie."

Posted to Hr. Direckor A. Knudsen, Villa "Merlon", Dutzfeldsalle 17, Hellerup, Denmark, Europe, from Miniota, Man. on 22/5/1913 with a letter to "Onkel Anton" from E. L. Landorph. Written in Danish. Valentine & Sons, no. 105,240. Is the placement of the two signs at right and left accidental? They actually appear to be some sort of box, like a small mailbox or, perhaps more likely, a refuse container. I suppose that advertising space was sold on them, whatever they are. They didn't miss many chances to slap advertising on things in those days.

Valentine & Sons, no. 104,940, posted at Taylorton, Sask. in May of 1911 to Miss Blanche Porter of West Newtown, Mass.: "This is one of the many cities in the west. We are very busy seeding just now. It is quite a country out here. You would not know me now the air is so good. Am all toned [??] up. Merle"

Valentine Edy Co. Ltd. card mailed June 25, 1934 in Winnipeg to Mr. R. Dickey of Govan, Sask. The sender, Earl, says "Dear Dad: Got a lower berth here allright. Have been rather sleepy all day. But am enjoying the trip. there are a lot of people on the team."

Posted at Bala, Ont., on September 10, 1906, with an image depicting a wedding glued on the back (it's a rather sombre depiction) and the message: '"Lead us not into Temptation" Dear Beatie, hope this will not hurt your feelings but you know when an occasion comes my way like this I must use it. Kind regards to Percy guess he'll be knocking the stuffing out of me. Love to Ma + Pa hope to hear from them soon. George.' To Miss B.
