We have a range of crocus blubs scattered through the front gardens.... different colours, sizes, varigations and clusters.
A true joy to watch Spring emerge!

Can it be?? Has spring sprung?
... we rolled over 19 ˚C ( 66 ˚F) today... and a wander round the grounds found some cheery colour - the croci are in bloom!

She was sitting, way out at the end of the harbour breakwall, all alone... gazing out across the empty lake.

This pair of youths had wandered out onto the lake ice... and now were debating the best way to get back to shore.
Note that I'm shooting at the full extent of a 400 mm lens... they were waaaaayyyyy out there
... and also note the blue slushy rotten ice field around them.

Today we "spring forward" on the clock....and Mother Nature has decided to cooperate and "spring Spring" as welll... the outside thermometer reads 12˚C/54˚F and the world is a mass of drippy thaw... Spring has sprung - a jug of sunny yellow tulips seemed appropriate.

As this winter drags on, we are finally approaching the "drippy days" which lead to spring. Time to bring some hopefully colours into the house...

They are everywhere!
Many folk are complaining of infestations of ladybugs at this time of the year ...
One colleague vacuums up several dozens of them daily and curses as they wander across his computer screen and keyboard.
The scientific names for these lovelies are Coleoptera, meaning "sheath-winged", and Coccinellidae, meaning "little red sphere".... and many farms pay thousands of dollars to import these avid aphid eaters!
All I can say is - if you are infested, you are sitting on ( in?) a gold mine... there's money to be made in them thar bugs!
how does your garden grow?

Nothing special... just some dappled sunshine and some happy tulips in my front garden... after the past few months, this is such happiness for me!

A common sight around here... though this brave mother ( or maybe inexperienced?!) has selected a busy parking lot median for her nest site...
Shoppers are getting *warned* away by her mate!

Saw these icicles starting to run rivelets of melt in the sunshine as I headed out of the college... smiled at this proof of winter's lessening grip!
Only had my iPhone with me, and did not want to miss the shot, so used the app "645 PRO for iPhone" - a nice boosted camera app...
Of note - CBC Tv used this as the weather photo of the day! ;-)
