Marimo needs little maintenance. They can be kept in a jar or an aquarium. They do nothing and have to be squeezed and rolled around the jar every now and then to help retain the round shape.

A local aquarium shop happened to have one. I got it for half price, because it has a couple of brown spots underneath from sitting on its one side in the aquarium. I hope to rehabilitate it. I don't know much about caring for marimo so we'll see what happens to it. Maybe it dies!
