Marla belongs to an ancient lady a few houses down across the road. Marla comes around every breakfast and several more times during the day. Marla is huge and extremely gentle, and she loves to cuddle. She is not really allowed in the house but we all know she will eventually move in.

Berta doesn't exactly understand the concept of cuddling.

Berta has a habit of looking to the sky a lot, either like this or under her brow. The theory is she looks at the birds, but I have also seen her continuously and thoughtfully gaze up when she's indoors or when nothing is around.
