The door to the church has three saints on it: in the middle St Benedict, on the left St Martin, and on the right St John the Baptist

information about the Abbey is available in French and Dutch.

On the right the windows are stoned shut. This is because they used changed these rooms to be the library for some years. The library has now moved though.

Founded in 1827 - not actually that old

From their website: "A community of Benedictine monks, brought together around the Gospel, the Rule of St.Benedict and the people who want to make this place live to make it attractive for everybody : hosts, pilgrims, pupils, passersby and surfers." I thought the surfers bit may have been a mistranslation but it is the same on the Dutch and French pages. Hmmm.
