Small, dainty and venomous

This elegant juvenile pit viper was on a low plant beside the walking trail in the jungle at Bako in Sarawak. It was almost defying gravity, seeming to float. I was entranced by it…but did not get closer than 1.5 meters just in case….they do bite. Have a fabulous weekend

HFF. Stumbled across this gorgeous boy sitting on a fence in a National Park in Sabah, Borneo. I love the crazy appearance of proboscis monkeys. Have a lovely Friday and a fantastic weekend. Stay safe and healthy too…xxxx

In natural environment. Dominant male proboscis monkey. Bako National Park, Sarawak. Malaysia. I find these animals totally fascinating...they look like a patchwork assemblage of various other animal parts....or like stout gents in waistcoats with big boozy noses!

Wild orangutans

In the 80s and 90s I spent a lot of time in Aceh, Sumatra. There were no tourists. Wild orangutans lived in the nearby jungle. I would walk alone in the mornings seaching the forest canopy for orangutans waking up in their tree top nests. Usually I had no camera. One lucky morning, when I had a simple camera, a female came down close to me. I had bananas for my breakfast, and I put them down on the ground. Then I walked a little way off, and sat down to watch her. These are some of the photos I took. Scanned from old photos...

I have never seen such an extraordinary plant...it looks almost artificial! It climbed about 60 meters up a huge jungle tree.
