Autumn flower

Where I live, autumn is defined by which flowers are blooming, rather than by the coloured leaves seen in higher altitudes or latitudes. This is the flower of a frangipanni, partly opening, with other buds behind. LATE ADDITION: I've now added a PiP of a photo I posted some time ago of fully opened frangipanni.

It takes until New Year, but the frangipanni do finally flower here even if they are much later than further north. Be a devil, click on the image to view it large. :-)

The frangipannis were in full bloom when we visited the Gold Coast. Ours will not be out for at least another month. Here's an 'Australian country music' link that more or less matches. :-)
I'd like to think that Pam might enjoy this and that she is warmed and helped by the reflection of summer weather.

Lord Howe Island has a subtropical climate, helped by warm ocean currents. It was great to see these flowering as late as May, well into the southern hemisphere autumn.

Autumn is distinctly moving in and the frangipanni flowers are nearly done. First serious image with the new camera body. Looks better on black.

Great excitement at the first flower on our (fairly new) frangipanni tree.
