In 1999, the United Nations General Assembly declared November 25 the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It was marked in Australia as "White Ribbon Day", with public marches in many centres this year. The local street march, with police accompaniment, came by while I was at the community street markets.

The morning street markets in Luang Prabang are open daily and all about fresh food. You can buy exciting fresh nibbles such as these crickets (see also PiP) - (just fry with a little chilli and other spices). If you wish, while they cook, you could sing along with this. Explored.
