In early 2013, it was something of a surprise to find a Viking longboat in our local marina (see note). It proved to be the Rusich , built and sailed to Australia by a group of keen Russian adventurers. The Rusich continued to a Wooden Boat Show in Hobart - and then reappeared briefly in our marina late in 2013. After sailing further north, it has since been transported to Europe (Amsterdam) by ship. There are plans for a major trip through Europe, from the North Sea to the Mediterannean.
