These handsome and debonair young fellows are the expeditioners at Macquarie Island 1968, posing here for the official photograph. This week I'm hosting a reunion of many of them. UPDATE Reunion over (and very successful - see note) and I've now added the link to the favourite song of the year - played loudly and often.

Many ships were wrecked on the Auckland Islands, as they lie on the 'Great Circle' sailing route from Australia to Cape Horn.
