This waterfall is on the Bolaven Plateau, in southern Laos. Best viewed large. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend, but first of all HFF everyone.

The view downstream on the Tianjara Creek from the Tianjara Falls lookout. As I noted in the photo of the falls, the entire area was burnt to varying extent in the fires of late 2019 / early 2020.

Back to our recent trip. One of our main destinations was Tianjara Falls, 64M high, and where we had never seen any water on our earlier visits. This time, after some recent rain, we were more lucky - see also the close-up view in the PiP. This area also had been burnt, to varying extent, in the fires early in 2020.

Feeling awful tonight, on the dreadful news of the loss of hundreds of people in Laos after the failure of a partly-built dam. I was fortunate to visit the country a few years ago and to meet some of its lovely people. This was taken at a resort stay not far from the site of this disaster, with (if I recall correctly) the Tad Fane falls in the distance.

Looking back into Milford Sound, on a wet and windy day with the waterfalls very active.

In the Franklin-Gordon National Park, on the road from Strahan to Hobart.

Just outside the little town of Strahan in western Tasmania is a very pleasant park, where a walk through cool temperate rainforest leads to these falls . I think best viewed on black. I'm having trouble keeping up with all the comments, so I'm going back to one image per day for a while. :)
