Second photo with note. Pied Currawongs are similar to Magpies, but with less extensive white markings: essentially just underwing and tail trimmings. And those eyes!

We found this trio of Laughing Kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae) in the Grampians National Park. These are giant kingfishers and among Australia's most loved birds. Taken with SMC-M Pentax Macro 100/4.0
