Cape Brett Lighthouse

This lighthouse is automated, as is now standard. It is not open to the public, though the former lightkeeper's house is being restored, I gather for holiday rentals. I also found the former landing and resupply jetty interesting (see PiP).
Sea Cliff Bridge

This bridge is well known (at least in Australia). Yes, there's a fence too, though you will have to enlarge to see it. It's more visible in the PiP, taken on the bridge.
I expect I'll be largely offline for a while as I shall be travelling. For now, all my best wishes for a very Happy Fence Friday and a great weekend, everyone.

Big cliffs, big waves - to the right is the Southern Ocean and the next land in that direction is Antarctica! I'd suggest viewing large, maybe while listening to this.

Big and bare

Best viewed large. The countryside here is big and bare - the rainfall is only about 380mm (15 inches non-metric). I'm fairly sure the greenery is a form of saltbush.

The northern end of Lord Howe Island is fronted by cliffs over 200 metres high. (Second image in note).

Milford Sound on a rainy day - and suddenly, waterfalls began to cascade down vertical rock faces in all directions. Best viewed large.

This musical link at least matches the weather.

Dog teams on the sea ice
09 Aug 2013 |

From one of the gritty "home developed" Ektachrome slides taken in 1966. Out on the sea ice among the islands near Mawson, for a practice run with the dog teams.
Macquarie Island 1968: Hurd Point

From an old slide. From a hundred or so metres up the side of the escarpment, on the climb out from Hurd Point at the south of Macquarie Island. Unfortunately it was winter, in the summer months those beaches are packed with one of the world's largest penguin colonies (nearly a million Royal Penguins). To give a scale, the tiny dots on the lower RHS near my ID are elephant seals, several metres long.
