This painting of a Platypus on this Rochester silo was done by Jimmy Dvate, just behind and a few years after his earlier works there (see my previous posting). We were fortunate to be able to visit as part of the events for the National Muster of the Renault 4CV Register of Australia. Second image in the PiP. I am finalising my preparations to head away for another trip and expect I will be largely offline from now through the rest of May. Bolwell produced a series of fibreglass bodied sports cars in Australia, based on componentry from more common production cars. This is a Mk VII from about 1965, of which a little over 400 were produced. It is seen here at our local car club display day.

An unrestored Dodge from (about) 1924, at our local car club display day. That badge should be rotated about 45 degrees left, I suspect. :-) Explored.

Departures - the sun and us! Taken as we were about to leave at the end of our Easter car club gathering, with reflections on the roof of the car near the camera. We are now heading away again (and offline) for a little over a week. So glad that IP SA and the IMA are now finalising arrangements for the continuation of the site. Our first line-up of the Mini-Muster, held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the release of the Renault 4CV (most of them) and the 60th anniversary of the Renault Dauphine (at left).

The much-loved Citroen 2CV or "deux chevaux" is often affectionately known as the "tin snail". This row of 2CVs and variants was at the Brisbane French Car Day. If you can spare a few minutes for this musical link you'll see many more images of the huge variety. Explored.

The Citroen DS (often known as the Deesse or Goddess) appeared 60 years ago - technically far in advance of any other car of the time. At the Queensland French Car Day, the Citroen enthusiasts arranged a mass gathering (see also note). Explored.

Renault 4CVs gathered outside the Forbes Town Hall for the official welcome, to begin the events of the Renault 4CV Muster for 2015. Best on black. Explored.
