These orchids (most commonly orange from what I've seen) are flowering well at present.

With great excitement, some friends invited me to take some photos of some native Australian orchids they had located in a nearby nature reserve. CORRECTION: I had the ID as Pencil Orchids, but these are not quite that. My friends have advised me that these are Thin Pencil Orchids ( Dendrobium teretifolium ), which grow on parts of the east coast. The flowers are about 20-30mm across. Probably somewhat larger on your screen than in its pot, this little Crucifix Orchid is flowering happily.

This little Phalaenopsis orchid has been in flower for ages. Best on black.
