Damselfly in blue

Another damselfly, with a portrait view in the PiP. I'd suggest viewing large.
Bee on lavender

Not only is the lavender bush flowering, but it's attracting many European honey bees.
Museum find

I found this while wandering around my local museum. Hands up if you're able to remember these. :-)
Agapanthus in the sun

I had to get more images of these while they're flowering so well. This looks good viewed large on black. A second image (with a bee) in the PiP.

These are flowering everywhere around here at present. Beautiful flowers, but they can become invasive.
Beachside grass

|
I don't claim to be able to identify this grass type, but it's helping to stabilise the dunes on our local beach.
With Covid restrictions largely off (for now at least), I'm heading away for a few days and expect to be largely offline. I hope you're all having a safe and enjoyable weekend.
Lily is here

A delight to find that the (very neglected) Belladonna Lily (Amaryllis) bulbs have come out in flower following recent rains. See also PiP.
Here's a musical link (with thanks to Ecobird, who also warns that this is an "earworm").
Explored.
Spring has sprung
Hanging cactus

I realised I haven't posted any flower images for a while. I'm told that this, growing from a hanging basket, is a Zygo Cactus. Well, it's colourful and, unlike many cacti, has no spikes. :-)
Whither photography?

Today I saw an online news item in which Canon suggest the camera market could drop by 50% in two years, as smartphones take over. tinyurl.com/yd76xmqn As I've been playing with a new phone the past few days (see recent images) the growing capability of phones has really come home to me. One of the two images above was taken with my phone, the other with a 50mm lens on a full frame DSLR (slight editing to crop, adjust some tones, but little else). If you've a few minutes to blow this up as large as possible you may care to try guessing what took which. I much prefer a 'real' camera, but this little exercise over the past few days really has been food for thought.
More camellias

I was testing the "macro" (really a close focus) setting on a newly acquired (30 year old) lens. It did fairly well, I thought. And, of course, it needs a musical link. :-)
Explored.
Mother's Day
09 May 2016 |

It was Mother's Day here yesterday (I guess it still is, in some time zones). I'm a little late with this, but Mother's Day here is always associated with chrysanthemum flowers. Best wishes to all mothers.

At last some rain
