Until the mid-20th century, poor roads along the coast meant that most freight was carried by coastal steamers. The heritage-listed Tathra wharf dates from the mid 1800s and is the only remaining coastal steamer wharf in NSW. To put this in its setting, my previous two images were taken on either side of the wharf. HFF and have a great weekend, everyone.

A very pleasant calm day at Tathra Head. Keen-eyed ship spotters may care to look for the ship. :-) Explored.

With some friends, I had an enjoyable morning kayaking up a local creek on the incoming tide - then back out when the tide changed. Second shot in the note. Here's a music link. We shall be away travelling for the next few weeks (not in kayaks) :-), so my visits here will be occasional (if at all) though I may pre-load some shots to post along the way. Out with friends, having a very relaxed sail on Batemans Bay. That's Snapper Island to the right. During our cruise, we later saw some Little Penguins fishing (insert note).
