A change from my series of old Antarctic images, not to mention the northern winter. This is our local beach this morning, just a few minutes walk from home. Yes, the water was every bit as pleasant as it looks (23C) and the day warm but not too hot (32C). Gee it was tough, but I felt I had to do it for you, my good friends, just so I could bring you this report. :-)

This morning I had to pinch myself to believe that a hot air balloon was passing by - the first time ever in this area as far as I know. With some friends, I had an enjoyable morning kayaking up a local creek on the incoming tide - then back out when the tide changed. Second shot in the note. Here's a music link. We shall be away travelling for the next few weeks (not in kayaks) :-), so my visits here will be occasional (if at all) though I may pre-load some shots to post along the way.
