This is the stoker at work on the "PS Pevensey", on which we cruised the Murray. It still has its original steam engine from 1911, using wood as fuel. In the PiPs, more views of the engine which is fully open to viewing by passengers (behind fences). Finally, a view of the paddle wheel operating, visible through a porthole. Just home from a fortnight of very summery travels (even though it's winter in Australia) with little chance to go online. I posted this image before departing, but had the wrong posting date so it didn't show as my most recent image. I expect to be back fully online over the next few days when I catch up with things. This old steam traction engine has clearly run its course. It now resides outside an old cheese factory. HFF!
